Books

So, uh, hi!

Where did July and August go? Seriously! I have been so busy!

I got (something like) a promotion at work.

Our house is finally (mostly) finished.

We bought it.

We moved in.

We’re still (sorta) moving in.

And I can (gasp) breathe again. And, maybe, just hopefully do some other things too. Like, read! And hey! It’s Bout of Books Week! And, believe it or not, I have a LOT of my books unpacked! O.o It’s like a miracle!

I’m making a small list of books to try to read this week. I’ve been reading better, now that the house building/buying/moving hoopla is dying down. I’m going to keep it easy though. Here is my list. Any suggestions on which are good and which I should maybe wait on?

I Am Pilgrim by Terry Hayes
Shark’s Fin and Sichuan Pepper: A Sweet-Sour Memoir of Eating in China by Fuchsia Dunlop
Pond by Claire-Louise Bennett
Fierce Kingdom by Gin Phillips
The Shadow of What We Wore by Luis Sepulveda
The Dud Avocado by Elaine Dundy
The Shepherd’s Life: Modern Dispatches from an Ancient Landscape by James Rebanks

There. That looks like pretty good variety, if I do say so myself. What are you reading this week? Are you participating in Bout of Books as well?

  1. Wowwww, congratulations on the promotion!! And on getting into the new house. I’ve just been going through basically that exact set of life circumstances, so I know how stressed you must be. But I’m glad you’re getting back into the swing of things, and your stack of books looks excellent. ❤
